  Good displays kids liked them. Full of fascinating facts. Quite expensive for what it is though. Essentially a converted house packed full of displays so when busy gets a little crowded.

  They've had some bad reviews lately and while I can definitely see why, if you forget value for money it's a great educational venue. It is a bit dated, but I guess they don't get a lot of funding. They've got a good range of dinosaur models, some just need some tlc. The 'cinema' barely rivals what most have in their lounge and the video wasn't ideal, so I'd love to see something more interactive in that room. Great to see an ipad in use now.
  
  Half-term break and only 1 staff member meant a painful wait to pay in the shop, but again you have to remember they probably don't get a lot of funding. The shop has a good range and isn't massively overpriced, although Atom Club has most of these for much less.
  
  We paid £25 for a family of 4 and £10+ in the shop and stayed for just under an hour (inc 5min+ wait to pay in the shop), so not great value. The other museums in the group are about the same and you can get a ticket for all sites to improve the value. We chose not too as we're going to the Egypt ones another time and don't fancy the teddy bear museum!
  
  I'm an ambassador for getting kids into science and believe the way forward is for the council and other sources to improve funding to support education, allowing them to reduce admission prices.
  
  In short: kids will love this place, I love it (even if it doesn't sound that way), but most will find it over priced.
